Walking the Mortimer Trail in the Autumn

It might be windy, it might be cold… but the Mortimer Trail – a 30 mile #walkingtrail from the Welsh border to #Ludlow, is magical at any time of the year – the #MortimerTrail¬†makes a perfect short #walkingholiday¬† break with great places to stay each night.

We re-walked the stretch from Ludlow to Croft Castle last autumn and found lots more than great views ….

lots of moss and lichen on these old sunken pathways

Great views of the Clee Hills and contented sheep (even when we disturbed a herd of deer, who literally jumped over the the sheep)

Old farmyard machinery (some still in use)
