Cycling around Mortimer Country

Where? ….. The borderlands of England & Wales – half way between Hereford & Shrewsbury, near Ludlow.  Its called Mortimer Country, because nearly 700 years ago the countryside was ruled by the Mortimer family, who kept the populace under control by building lots of castles & fighting all comers – from the Welsh to the English.   Fortunately they’ve stopped fighting  – its now an unspoilt corner of the country – absolutely perfect for cycling on one of our cycle tours  or exploring by foot on The Mortimer Trail.

Here’s a great article telling you all about it
